14 Μαϊου 2010. Το onion.gr “συναντάει” ψηφιακά το young shoe designer Jumpei Ushiyama και μαθαίνει λίγα πράγματα γι αυτόν και τα νέα παπούτσια που σχεδίασε για την CAMPER.

• onion.gr: Hello Jumpei. Give as a short Resume of what you‘ve done up to now.
Hello, I’m originally from Tokyo. After studying Industrial Design in the UK and Italy, fortunately I had a great opportunity to work in a footwear design studio in London for some experiences. And, currently I am working in Camper where I always dreamed to be!

• onion.gr: What is your favourite Music Album, Film and Tech Gadget?
My favourite music album,is “The Magic Position” by Patrick Wolf
Film, I watch many Japanese films and I cannot choose the best one. They’re all good. Philosophical and funny. Tech gadget…my MacbookPro.

• onion.gr: Who is your favourite Comics Hero?
Mmm, I don’t read so many comics.

• onion.gr: Which are your favourite Design Objects?
Shoes…

• onion.gr: What are the 3 words that describe the Fashion or Shoe trends currently?
Craft, Individuality, Out-of fashion

• onion.gr: What was your CAMPER brief? What did inspire you?
The brief was very open. Architecture in urban cities inspired me strongly, and energy from Tokyo.

• onion.gr: So what is actually the TRIC-BCN collection?
TRIC-BCN is a modern renovation and interpretation of classic shoes.
Starting from classic leather shoes, and re-create them in the modern context with a contemporary vision and technologies. It is actually shoes for young professionals living in contemporary urban cities.

• onion.gr: What are your future plans or vision for Design?
I would like to be a good person and good designer. I would like to always design something nice. I would like to always be a designer. That is the most important thing for me.

• onion.gr: A little Eco-Friendly Tip you would like to give to onion.gr readers?
Let's wear white shoes and clothes. According to a scientific article I read, White reflects sun light back to the space and can save the earth from global warming. :)
